Membership of the Dental Council of NSW is appointed by Her Excellency the Governor of NSW. Following a recent call for Expressions of Interest, a selection panel was established, independent of the Dental Council of NSW, to identify suitable candidates who had expressed interest in a Dental Council position. Suitable candidates were put forward for consideration by the Minister for Health and Medical Research and final approval by the Governor.

As a result of this, I am pleased to advise of the following appointments/reappointments:

On 30 June 2021, Dr Anthony Burges; Clinical Associate Professor Bill O’Reilly AM; Mr David Owen, and Associate Professor Janet Wallace ended their maximum term of nine years on the Council.

On behalf of the Council, I would like to extend my gratitude to them for their service to the Council and for their contribution to public safety over this period.  I would also like to acknowledge Clinical Associate Professor O’Reilly’s leadership as President of the Council from July 2012 to June 2018.
